Many authors self-publish in order to maintain total control over the content, design and layout of their book. Printing small quantities on demand, is now affordable and practical!
Printing in small quantities is a great way to test your market. Digital technology today nets a quality finished product that any author would be proud of.
Short-run book sizes are: 5.5" x 8.5", 6" x 9", 8" x 8", 8.5" x 11", and custom sizes upon request. If you are intending to print larger runs sometime in the future, choose a size that is compatible and cost effective in BOTH situations.
Write and edit your manuscript. Remember that a successful book depends on good editing and proof reading--consider hiring a copy editor, English student or mentor, after completing this process yourself.
Create a digital version of your text, with place markers and descriptions for pictures and graphic elements. For print, pictures and graphics need to be a high resolution, 300 or 600 dpi.
That's where we come in...
We take your MS Word or WordPerfect document and import your text into an industry standard program, InDesign. There, we format the text to create a balanced white-space and pleasing layout design. Graphic elements are formatted and placed. Details like, addressing style consistency, text kerning and "orphan control" create a polished finished product.
A great cover design will go a long way! Our intuitive,
co-creative approach to graphic design will give you the cover design you're looking for.
We provide your printer with 100% print-ready files, according to their specifications.
Helping our customers...
We have established relationships with a number of printers and can get pricing and perks not available to the general public. In one case, we were able to save the author $3 per book...
Word documents alone can't output a "glitch-free" print-ready file for book publishing and most printers do not accept this format.

...A special thanks to Graphic Designer, Kelly Hewkin
for her ability to
create a presentation that
is congruent with
the intent of my work.
